Moving cross country inspired me to create a blog. A blog? Yes, a blog. As if I have anything to say worth reading...
Back to the title of the post. This last week I bought a 6' x 10' trailer and filled it with the useless crap I accumulated over recent years, hooked it up to my gutless tacoma pickup and drove 3,000 miles from Oregon to Florida, praying that the job I accepted is the dream job I've been searching for. To make a long story short, I will be working in the LPGA Division for a company that provides real-time statistics for a number of professional sports. I will be traveling with the LPGA Tour, which for all of you non golfers is the Ladies Professional Golf Association, this season includes 34 events in the US, Europe, Mexico and Canada.
Enough about work...
We stopped in San Francisco and my brother in law installed some helper springs to increase the towing capacity on my truck. From there we drove to Las Vegas and spent the day walking the strip. After Vegas it was literally petal to the floor through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, down into Louisiana again and through Florida.
Driving cross country in four days means seeing a few sunrises. We only stopped one night to sleep at a Best Western. Free wireless internet and a home cooked breakfast. Gotta love the south.
I'll have more to say later. Have to get some sleep so I can wake up early and unload the trailer at my new home. Wow, I live in Florida now, sure didn't see that comin'.
